Our history
Jan Stok (b. 1930) worked in the kitchens of several cruise ships of the famous Holland-America Line in the 1950s. He made trips to Canada, the Bermudas and, of course, New York. He worked as “chef garde manger” and was responsible for the “cold kitchen. His French colleagues soon translated his Dutch name to “Jean Bâton. Under that name, he became known for his tasty sauces.
